Configuring WalkMe Premium Plug-In Settings for SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition

Brief Overview 

Integrating WalkMe Premium for SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition helps accelerate onboarding, improve user proficiency, and support change management with in-app guidance.

Note

WalkMe Premium for SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition require separate licenses.

Important Note for On-Premise/Private Edition Users

If you're using one of the following SAP S/4HANA versions:

  • 2021
  • 2022
  • 2023

Implementation Details

WalkMe Premium is not available by default and must be manually enabled and configured.

Follow the steps below to complete integration. 

Option 1: WalkMe Premium License with WalkMe embedded enabled 

If your system is already setup to use the WalkMe embedded in-app help:

  1. Run the transaction code /n/UI2/FLP_CUS_CONF 
  2. Click Launchpad Plug-Ins
  3. In the list, locate the plugin entry DAP_PLUGIN and confirm:
    • Activation State is maintained as Active
    • URL is configured
  4. If the plugin state is not listed or inactive, follow the steps in Option 2
  5. Select the DAP_PLUGIN then in the Dialog Structure panel, click Configuration
  6. Check that the Launchpad PRODUCT and VERSION property IDs are present
    • If missing continue with  Option 2
  7. Click Configuration and then New Entries then complete the following
    • Property ID: Select CUSTOMER_SYSTEM_URL
    • Value: Enter your WalkMe snippet URL (Learn more more about how to obtain your snippet URL)
  8. Click Save

Option 2: WalkMe Premium License without WalkMe embedded enabled 

If WalkMe embedded help is not yet configured:

  1. Run the transaction code /n/UI2/FLP_CUS_CONF
  2. Click Launchpad Plug-Ins
    It is recommended to open the Plugin WEB_ASSISTANT_HELP_PLUGIN in a second window as a reference
  3. Click New Entries and complete the following:
    1. Launchpad Plug-In ID: DAP_PLUGIN
    2. Activity Status: Active
    3. URL:
  4. Click Save
  5. Click Configuration and then New Entries then add:
    • Property ID: CUSTOMER_SYSTEM_URL 
    • Value: Enter your WalkMe snippet URL (Learn more more about how to obtain your snippet URL)
  6. Click Save
  7. Click Next Entry and add:
    • Property ID: PRODUCT
    • Value: Copy the value of property ID PRODUCT from WEB_ASSISTANT_HELP_PLUGIN
  8. Click Save
  9. Click Next Entry and add:
    • Property ID: VERSION
    • Value: Copy the value of property ID VERSION from WEB_ASSISTANT_HELP_PLUGIN
  10. Click Save
