Addressing SAP SuccessFactors Common Super Domain and Potential Impact on WalkMe Content
What is Common Super Domain
SAP has introduced a change to the SuccessFactors domain structure by implementing a unified Common Super Domain providing a unified place for managing shared business rules, workflows, and data models across different modules.
The goal is to promote standardization of entities like Position, Department, or Division, and ensure consistency in how data is handled across different areas of the system. It allows administrators to define rules, data models, and workflows that can be reused across different areas or modules in the platform, reducing redundancy and ensuring centralized control.
It supports scalability by allowing the configuration of business objects and rules in one place, which can then be applied to different modules. This reduces the need for complex customizations and makes the system more adaptable to changes.

Potential Impact on WalkMe Content
Various WalkMe products and content can be configured to rely on the URL of the application, a sudden change of the URL has a high chance of causing WalkMe to become unavailable to end users.
Common areas where URL based rules are applied:
- Editor application condition rules
- Content with a direct link pointing to SAP SuccessFactors domains. Usually used for redirect action or resource for displaying image / video.
- Extension settings responsible for defining where your WalkMe content is expected to load
- Insights rules intended to monitor data on specific pages defined with URLs
Mitigation Plan
We've prioritized and implemented automated solutions to swiftly resolve the majority of problematic areas, such as Editor Application condition rules - any regular SAP SuccessFactors URL rule will work on the Common Super Domain URLs and vice versa. In cases where automation isn't possible due to unique circumstances or missing data, our customer success team will provide personalized communication to address those specific needs.
Currently SAP SuccessFactors does not enforce Common Super Domain or has a date for when it will be mandatory, leaving the option to enable it manually for each SuccessFactors instance. Our goal is to provide assistance as soon as possible to eliminate the possibility of the unexpected change in the application.
