Brief Overview

The Translations page lets you edit and manage how your WalkMe content appears in different languages. Here, you can view, update, and preview translations for all items in your account to ensure a consistent multilingual experience.

From this page, you can:

  • View translations: Select an item to see all language versions side by side
  • Edit translations: Manually update text or use machine translation (if enabled)
  • Preview content: See how your translated items appear to users in real time
  • Filter translations: Identify items with missing or outdated translations to keep your content current
  • Use BBCode and rich text: Format content while preserving design tags and text structure

The Translations page is available in the WalkMe Console.

How it Works

Edit translations directly and preview how content will appear to users

  1. View translations by clicking on selected items
  2. Select items from the dropdown to narrow your view and to see only specific languages
  3. Translations can be manually entered
  4. Click the Preview button to see how content appears to users

  • WalkMe uses element recognition to identify onscreen elements when the language changes
  • When the account is configured for DeepUI, WalkMe uses DeepUI to identify elements
  • Default setting is ootb “Find Element” algorithm

Shared elements like the next/done/submit button are located in the General Settings folder

Outdated Feature

This allows you to filter which translations are outdated and need updating:

  • Filters outdated content across supported languages
  • Identifies outdated translations by comparing them to default language (the one used in the Editor)

Filter outdated translations:

In Translations click Filter by, select Outdated

Custom language with outdated content displays with a yellow box highlighting the content that needs updating.

Missing Feature

This give you the ability to filter which translations are missing:

  • Filters missing content across supported languages
  • Identifies missing translations by comparing them to default language (the one used in the Editor)

Filter missing translations:

In Translations click Filter by, select Missing

Custom languages with missing content display with a yellow box highlighting the content that needs updating

BB Code

Copy all, Paste, Paste without formatting, and Edit options are available

  • Paste - pastes all copied content including the code tags
  • Paste without formatting - pastes only the text without the code
  • Edit - when BBcode is typed incorrectly, a red indicator appears
  • Machine translation is available (if machine translation is enabled) under an Auto-translate icon

Regular copy & paste (right click or CTL C / V) copies the content only (without the code tags)

Rich Text (for Visual Designer content)

  • Only regular Paste option is available
  • When translating rich text textbox, a <p> is automatically added (to enable display on the ShoutOut)

Differences between text elements:

Regular text that contains BBCode:

  • User can remove the design tags and write translation in and outside the tags
  • Tags are grey

Rich text:

  • User can't remove the design tags and must write the translation between the tags (to replace the default content)
  • Tags are green
