Brief Overview
This article explains data availability and update frequency in WalkMe Insights dashboards and reports.
Some dashboards display data in real time, while others update daily. Data retention in WalkMe Insights allows information to remain accessible for up to one year.
Data Availability
App pages
- WalkMe app page data updates in real time
- These pages rely on WalkMe Engagement Analytics events, which are logged in Insights immediately
- Export data updates daily at 9:00 am (UTC)
Systems Overview
- Metrics update when the user's session ends (after 30 minutes of inactivity)
Users page
- The user list displays users after their session ends (after 30 minutes of inactivity)
- User metrics (for example, last seen and first seen) are calculated after each session ends
- Export data updates daily at 9:00 am (UTC)
Session Playback
- Sessions appear after they have ended (after 30 minutes of inactivity)
Tracked Events
- Event data on the Tracked Events dashboard updates in real time
Session Stream
- Event data on the Session Stream dashboard updates in real time
- Use the Live sessions toggle to view active sessions
Funnels
- Funnel data is not real time
- Data updates daily at 9:00 am (UTC)
- Funnels generated before this time will not include full data for the previous day
- For accounts using Engagement Analytics (without Engaged Elements), data appears only after the first funnel is created
- For accounts with Engaged Elements or Digital Experience Analytics (DXA) enabled, funnel data is available from the day those features were activated
Reports
- Report data is not real-time
- Updates begin daily at 9:00 am (UTC)
- Allow time before exporting to include full data for the previous day
Technical Notes
- Real-time dashboards and reports in Insights pull data from different sources, which may cause up to 0–2% variance in user or event counts
- A 2–3% error range may occur for data within the last 24 hours due to the Insights algorithm
