How to Use Capture and Navigate Modes

Last Updated December 5, 2024

Brief Overview

The article outlines how to effectively use WalkMe's capture and navigate modes for selecting web elements. In capture mode, you can select elements on the current page, and then switch to navigate mode to move between pages without selecting elements.

How It Works

When using WalkMe to capture elements on your site, the editor enters capture mode, allowing you to select elements on the current page.

To navigate to a different page without capturing elements, use the editor's toggle to switch to navigate mode. This lets you interact with your site's elements without capturing them.

You can also switch between capture and navigate modes by pressing Ctrl on your keyboard. This is particularly helpful for capturing elements within a hover menu. Simply switch to navigate mode, hover over the menu, switch back to capture mode, and select the desired element.
