Creating a Contract-Based System

Brief Overview

Contract-based system setup is a guided system creation flow for SAP environments only. When you create a system, you'll only see the system types included in your contract — ensuring every system you create is supported and aligned with your contract.

This flow helps you:

  • Set up systems faster
  • Avoid configuration errors
  • Stay aligned with your account entitlements

If a system type isn't available, reach out to your Customer Success Manager or WalkMe contact.

Access

To access contract-based setup in the Admin Center:

  1. Open the Systems page in the WalkMe Admin Center:
  2. Select a system

Note

Only admins or users with “manage systems” permission can create systems.

How It Works

All system creation flows start with these steps:

  1. Go to the Systems page
  2. Select Create Web System

Commercial system (based on contract)

  1. Select an application from the list - These are the applications included in your contract
  2. If you can't find the application you want, select from Applications with no associated contracts to create a custom system

  3. Filter applications by line of business or alphabetically

  4. Select an application and then Next
  5. Review the system, application, and contract details. Filter contracts by purpose — Internal (for employees) or External (for customers)

  6. Select Create System, or turn on Trial system to create a trial system
  7. Select Create System
  8. The new system appears on the Environments page and can be renamed

Action bar

  1. Select an application and then Next
  2. Select Action bar limited system and then Create System
  3. The new system appears on the Environments page and can be renamed

Custom application

  1. Select Custom application
  2. Type the domain where you want to load WalkMe
  3. Name your custom application - If the domain already exists, select whether to use a standard application or create a new custom one
  4. Select Next
  5. The new system appears on the Environments page and can be renamed

Trial system (no action bar)

If you only have a contract for one SAP system and want to create another, you can only create a trial system.

  1. Select from Applications with no associated contracts (limitations will display) and then Next
  2. Select Create Trial System
  3. The new system appears on the Environments page and can be renamed

DAP contract

  1. Select an application from the list and then Next
  2. Select the contract you want to create the system from and then Create System
  3. The new system appears on the Environments page and can be renamed

No contract and action bar

  1. Select an application and then Next
  2. Select Action bar limited system and then Create System
  3. The system appears on the Environments page and can be renamed

Create new desktop systems

  1. Go to the Systems page
  2. Select Create Desktop mobile system
  3. Select Create System
  4. The new system appears on the Environments page and can be renamed
