Insights Time Zone Settings

Brief Overview

Time zone settings in the Insights ensure data across all dashboards, reports, and exports is aligned with your configured account time zone. This provides consistent, time-accurate analytics for global teams—allowing users to view data in their local time without needing manual conversions.

All Insights dashboards automatically reflect the time zone defined in the user's console profile page. If no time zone is set, Insights defaults to UTC+0.

The account-level time zone affects data displayed in the following areas of Insights:

  • Systems Overview
  • System-specific analytics
  • Custom Dashboards
  • Flow Analytics
  • Events (Visualization tab)
  • Reports (Exports and Subscriptions)

This setting ensures all pages display metrics and timelines that match your organization's local time for greater reporting accuracy.

Setting the Time Zone

Your time zone is defined in your console profile.

  1. Select the User settings icon in the console
  2. Choose the Profile option
  3. Select or update your preferred time zone
  4. All insights data will automatically adjust to this setting
Notes

  • If no time zone is selected, Insights defaults to UTC+0 for all displays and exports
  • Once a time zone is configured, reverting to UTC+0 must be done manually from the profile settings

How It Works

Reports and Exports

Default Export Behavior

By default, reports are generated in UTC+0.
If a time zone is defined in your profile, you can choose to export reports in either:

  • UTC+0
  • Your account's configured time zone

When creating and exporting a report:

  • Turn on the Export Data Using Profile's Timezone toggle apply your profile time zone

Notes

  • Report date ranges adjust to match your time zone

  • Individual time-based fields within the report remain in UTC

  • The applied time zone appears as a tooltip in the Exports and Subscriptions page next to the Time Period value

  • The exported file name includes the selected time zone (For example, User Engagement Log 20250811–20250811 UTC+3)

  • Emails notifying users of report completion also include the selected time zone in the message body

Subscriptions

When creating a subscription:

  • Turn on the Export Data Using Profile's Timezone toggle apply your profile time zone

Notes

  • If enabled, the subscription's time zone remains fixed until edited again

  • Tooltips and titles display the applied time zone in Exports and Subscriptions page

  • Subscription emails specify both the time zone used for the report data and the delivery schedule

  • The Frequency field shows the delivery time zone, not the data time zone

Technical Notes

  • The “Use Time Zone” toggle in exports and subscriptions is off by default

    • If disabled, reports will always be generated in UTC+0

  • If your account time zone is significantly ahead (for example, UTC+14), future-looking dates may appear selectable

    • However, the report will still export based on the UTC+0 date unless the time zone option is enabled

  • Adjusting your Console profile time zone will not automatically update active subscriptions

    • You must edit the subscription for changes to take effect

Timezone Settings for Insights Classic

To access your timezone in Insights Classic, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into your classic account at insights.walkme.com
  2. Click on your account name in the upper right corner and choose Timezone Settings
  3. Select your desired timezone and click Save
