Mobile: What Are Launchers and How Are They Used?
Brief Overview
Launchers are a flexible tool with many uses. The most common use for a Launcher is as an engagement point for other campaigns, including ShoutOuts, Walk-Thrus and Surveys.
Unlike ShoutOuts or other campaign types, Launcers do not disappear after you interact with them, meaning you can use them like a button added to your app that launches WalkMe actions.
Other use cases include redirecting a user to a different page, opening the app settings or serving as actionless banners that stay on the screen.
Let's take a deeper dive into how to build and edit a Launcher.
Here is an example of our new WYSIWYG Launcher template in all of its glory!
WalkMe Mobile Launchers differ from WalkMe Web Launchers in that they are not anchored to a specific element; instead, you can use the WYSIWYG editor to position the Launcher on the screen in the location of your choice.
Use Cases
Launchers' use cases include the following:
- Provide a way for end-users to activate campaigns on demand;
- Create a simple menu by linking to campaigns from a ShoutOut, and starting that ShoutOut from a Launcher;
- Link to a deeplink inside your app or an external link outside of it.
