Answer

Snippet

If you added a snippet to your website's HTML, instead of removing it you can follow these instructions to disable it.

  1. Go to the settings in the WalkMe Editor
  2. Select System settings
  3. Go to the Snippet tab
  4. Select the environment you want to disable WalkMe from using the Environment dropdown
  5. Turn off the WalkMe Enabled toggle
This will temporarily disable WalkMe from your environment until you choose to turn it on again.

Extension

Users that have manually installed the WalkMe Extension can uninstall the extension by following these browser-specific instructions.

Note

  • If your company has mass deployed the extension, you will most likely not be able to uninstall it
  • Please contact your company's IT department for assistance with uninstalling

Chrome

  1. Click on the Extensions icon in your browser (it looks like a puzzle piece)
  2. Click on the options menu next to the WalkMe icon (it looks like a blue circle with "me" inside)
  3. Select Remove from Chrome

Edge

  1. Right click on the WalkMe icon in the top right corner of your browser (it looks like a blue circle with "me" inside)
  2. Select Remove from Microsoft Edge

Internet Explorer

  1. Go to the settings
  2. Select Manage Add Ons
  3. Right click on the WalkMe extension and click Disable

Safari

  1. Go to SafariPreferences → Extensions
    1. Turn off an extension: Uncheck the box
    2. Uninstall an extension: Select the extension and click Uninstall
Best Practice

If you can't determine what an extension does, or you don't expect to use it again, we recommend that you uninstall it.
