Terminating Support for Older Versions of the Editor

WalkMe will end support for all WalkMe Editor versions below 5.0.0 on December 31, 2025. Once you're on editor version 5.0.0 or later, all future updates will install automatically.

What's Happening

  • WalkMe will end support for all editor versions below 5.0.0 on December 31, 2025. This means, editor versions below 5.0.0 will no longer receive updates, maintenance or support from WalkMe.

Why This Matters

  • Older editor versions lack the auto-update mechanism, making them less secure and harder to maintain. This can cause issues such as the inability to preview content and other disruptions which may become more frequent over time. Upgrading your editor ensures you have access to the latest features, security improvements, and automatic updates so you remain on the most stable editor version.
  • Staying on a legacy version may impact performance and support resolution times.  If you submit a support ticket, the first step will be upgrading your editor before further troubleshooting. 

How To Upgrade Your Editor

  1. Uninstall your current editor
  2. Download and install the latest editor here
  3. If your organization requires IT assistance for installations, involve them early
Note

If your company policy prevents you from installing or updating software on your device, please reach out to your IT team to initiate the editor upgrade process.

Once you're on editor version 5.0.0 or later, all future updates will install automatically.
