Digital Experience Analytics (DXA) provides visibility into how users interact with your website or application beyond WalkMe content. It captures detailed interaction data—such as clicks, inputs, and form submissions—to help identify friction points, analyze user journeys, and understand behavior before and after WalkMe is deployed.
DXA is part of WalkMe Insights and must be enabled explicitly in your account.
Use Digital Experience Analytics to:
DXA is typically used when engagement with WalkMe content alone does not provide sufficient insight into overall user behavior.
DXA collects all Engagement Analytics data, along with additional website interaction data.
DXA data is retained for one year according to WalkMe's standard retention policy.
Admins can turn on DXA from the Admin Center by configuring the Data Collection Level Settings. Once turned on, Targeted DXA is applied as the default DXA level.
Once a Tracked Event is defined, full data collection begins for that element from that point forward. Data before the setup date is not shown as sampled data is not reliable for analysis.
Tracked Events dashboards, reports, and funnels:
When viewing a date range that includes days before or during the time a Tracked Event was defined, Insights will display a warning message noting that full data may not be available
The relevant Tracked Event will also display a warning icon showing the date it was created
General events filters:
General events filters are not available in Targeted DXA mode
To collect full interaction data for a specific element, you must first define a Tracked Event
Once defined, Insights will begin capturing all interaction data for that element
DXA data collection follows the censorship and privacy settings configured for your system.
