Learning Content in WalkMe Learning Arc

Brief Overview

The Learning Content page makes it easy for users to create, manage, and organize all learning materials in one place. It brings together content creation, search, filtering, and editing in a centralized, user-friendly workspace.

Access

To access the Learning Content page, navigate to it by clicking on the Learning Content page in the console navigation or use a direct link to the page:

How It Works

Create learning content

  1. Click the + Learning Content button in the top-right corner of the page

  2. A popup will appear with three content types to choose from:

    1. Microlearning: Share key information in a single lesson

    2. Course: Combine multiple lessons to build structured learning

    3. Learning Journey (coming soon): Build a comprehensive experience by linking multiple courses

How to Create Learning Content

Open portal

  1. Select Open Portal to access the WalkMe Learning Arc Portal

Learning notifications

Learning notifications alert you when key updates are available in your workspace and allow you to access your content quickly.

How to access:

  1. Click the Notifications icon in the top navigation bar

  2. A Learning notifications panel will open

  3. The panel includes two main sections:

    1. In progress: Displays earning content items that are still being created, along with their current status

    2. Past activity: Lists notifications that have already been viewed or marked as read

Folders

Use folders to keep learning content organized by topic, workspace, or use case.

  1. Select a folder to view it's items

Creating a folder

  1. Click the Add a folder icon in the upper-right corner

  2. Enter a name and choose a color

  3. Click Create folder

  1. Click the Options menu next to the folder name

  2. Select an action from the menu:

    1. Add to favorites

    2. Rename

    3. Manage access

    4. Change color

    5. Move to folder

    6. Delete folder

Choose who can view or edit the folder.

Easily navigate all your content with a comprehensive search feature.

  1. Search for content using the Search bar

Info

Use the information panel to review and manage details for a learning content item.

  1. In the item row, select the Info icon
  2. The information panel opens
  3. The panel includes five tabs:
    1. General
    2. Insights
    3. Translations
    4. References (Coming soon)
    5. History
  4. Select Preview to see how the item will appear to users
  5. Select Publish to make the item live in the portal

General

Use the General tab to review key information about the learning content item.

  1. Select Edit content details to update information

Insights

The Insights tab shows analytics for your course or microlearning. Use these metrics to understand user engagement and completion trends.

Available data:

Users viewed: Total number of users who viewed the learning content details

Users started: % of viewers who began the learning content

Users completed: % of total users who finished the learning content

Avg. completion rate: % of users who started and completed the learning content

Avg. completion time: Average time to complete the learning content

Avg. quiz attempts: Average number of quiz attempts per user

Translations 

The Translations tab lets you manage multiple language versions of learning content from a single learning item.

The History tab shows all saved versions of the learning item.

Columns

Columns include:

  • Name

  • Created by

  • Tags

  • Segment

  • Assignments
  • Translations
  • Creation date

  • Status

Tags

To add a tag:

  1. Click the +Add icon in the Tag column of the content line

  2. Search for a keyword and click Add

Note

You can add up to six tags.

To apply a tag:

  1. Click the + icon in the Tag column of the content line

  2. Select a tag and click Apply

To rename a tag:

  1. Select the tag in the Tag column of the content line

  2. Click Edit

  3. Rename the tag

  4. Click Apply changes

Distribution

Use the Distribution column to define where your learning content appears in-app once it's published.

Segments

You can add and apply segments for learning content to streamline how content is targeted and organized.

Assignments

Assign mandatory content for users to complete. Assigned items appear in each user's portal, under the Assigned tab.

How to assign learning content

  1. In the Assignments column of the content line, select + Add assignment
  2. In the popup, choose who should complete the content:
    1. All users: Assign to everyone in your organization
    2. Assign by segment: Select one or more segments
    3. Assign by users: Select specific users
  3. Selected users appear in the panel on the right
  4. Select Assign

Note

Assigned users and segments can view the course even if they aren't part of the original segment Users receive an assignment email if the New assignment notification is enabled on the User Notifications page

Update or remove assignments:

  1. In the Assignments column, select Assigned
  2. Update or remove users as needed
  3. Select Delete Assignment to remove the assignment

Status

  • Draft: The content has been created but not yet published
  • Published: The content is live and available to learners
  • Unpublished: The content has been taken offline and is no longer available to learners
  • Modified: A published version exists, but changes have been made that haven't been re-published.

Learning content options

  1. Click the Options menu next to the item row

  2. Select an action from the list:

    1. Preview

    2. Publish

    3. Rename

    4. Duplicate

    5. Move to folder

    6. Delete

  1. Select one or more items by checking the box next to each item name

  2. Choose an action from the bulk actions menu:

    1. Publish/Unpublish

    2. Move to folder

    3. Delete
