Supported Browsers and Operating Systems

Building With the WalkMe Editor

Smart Walk-Thrus and other WalkMe items are created using the WalkMe Editor. You can build in Chrome, Edge Chromium, and Internet Explorer (beta).

  • Chrome version 96 or later
  • Firefox version 94.0.2 or later
  • Internet Explorer 11 or later
  • Edge Chromium
  • IE mode on Edge Chromium
    • Works on Edge Chromium version 78 or later

Install the WalkMe Editor

Supported operating systems

WalkMe supports all the latest macOS and Windows operating systems.

Playing Published WalkMe Content

Once WalkMe content is published and deployed, users can access and play it from the supported browsers below.

  • Firefox version 57 or later
  • Google Chrome version 51 or later
  • Safari version 9 or later for macOS 10.09–10.11, and version 10 or later for macOS 10.12–10.1
  • Internet Explorer version 10 or later for Windows 7, and version 11 for Windows 8–11
  • Edge Chromium
  • IE mode on Edge Chromium
    • Works on Edge Chromium version 78 or later
Limitations

  • Insights officially supports Chrome only. It may work on other browsers but is not officially supported.
  • ActionBot is not supported on Internet Explorer.

Mobile Web Support

Users can access and play WalkMe content on smartphones and tablets. There are no known issues when playing WalkMe on commonly used mobile browsers, including:

  • Android internet
  • Chrome
  • Safari
Limitations

The following browsers are not supported:

  • Firefox version 57 or later
  • Edge Legacy (non-Chromium)

For the best experience, use Chrome or Safari on mobile devices.

Technical Notes

WalkMe regularly tests supported browsers to ensure ongoing compatibility. Beta versions are continuously validated by a dedicated engineering team to maintain compliance standards.
