SaaS Model

Last Updated May 5, 2023

Brief Overview

The SaaS model is the default/recommended method of hosting WalkMe. In the WalkMe SaaS Model, WalkMe software is held on Amazon Web Services (AWS). WalkMe's servers are located in Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), while the WalkMe content and logic details are stored on Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS).

How it Works

Any published content is saved on Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and is instantly deployed to Akamai's Content Delivery Network (CDN) for fast download rates for all WalkMe end-users.

This architecture is fairly simple, and implementation can be done in two ways:

  1.  Add the WalkMe snippet onto your website's HTML pages (similar to Google Analytics' deployment method). Learn more about how to deploy WalkMe using a snippet
  2.  Inject the snippet via a web browser extension that is distributed to your organization's end-users. Learn more about how to deploy WalkMe using an extension
